Sleep Talking in Texas

MICROWAVEABLE SHOES
So remember how I have genie toes? If you don’t know what I am talking about ask Brittany or Dan or one of my sisters to explain it to you. But it is VERY hard for me to find shoes that fit my toes. Like way hard. So before coming out I bought some Crocs... NOW NOW... calm down. Don't get your undies in a bunch. They were not like the ugly crocs with holes in them like Swiss cheese. These were cute crocs (oxi-moron, I know). But anyway so I had these crocs and I would wear them occasionally. Then... when transfers happened I put all my shoes in a bag, threw them in the back of the big red truck and then drove to my new area. Good thing its 105 degrees outside and my shoes are like rubber.... yeah my crocs like shrunk thanks to the heat... They are like a size 6 now instead of a size 8. I wanted to wear them the other day and Sister M was like, "dude just put them in the microwave for a minute." So I did. She was laughing so hard. She was like, "I wasn't being serious!!" Well... it worked didn't it? Now they are a size 7... I will have to wait for a few days before I try again... I don’t want them to like turn to goo haha.

THE SIGN
Well.... apparently Sister M was fed up with my sleep talking. I gave another lesson in my sleep the other night and woke both of us up haha. Soooo. She made me a sign to help my sub-conscious to remember that it’s not polite to sleep talk. The sign says, "PLEASE refrain from speaking while sleeping!" I was laughing SO hard. We hung it right above my bed. We are going to try and buy a dream catcher too haha hopefully that will help! :)

LIGHT FROM GOD
We had a name and an address that the elders had randomly given us. We weren't sure if it was a less active, or a former investigator or what... so we knocked on the door and it was super stormy and dark. It was only like 7:30 but it was so dark out because of the rain clouds. We said a prayer and then we went up to the door the mom answered and she was in her bathrobe. We were like "Sorry if you're busy but we were just wondering if Braydon Berry lives here?" She said, "Yes that’s my husband." "Oh okay, well we would love to come back and share a message with you and your family." I was totally expecting to have her say, "you know now isn't a good time and we aren't interested.... But we were so shocked when she smiled and said, "YES! We are actually really interested in having you come teach us!" WHAT?! Just at that moment this gorgeous peach colored light casted itself all over the porch. Sister M and I both turned around confused and the clouds had broken through the storm and I promise you I almost heard angels singing it was such cool timing. I will keep you updated on them! They seem like a really cool family :)

McDONALDS MISCOMMUNICATION
We met Rod. We had an excuse to talk to him because he was playing with some random cat. God knows that he can use cats to guide us to people. We should probably just start following cats and they will lead us to people to teach. Yeah? I think that sounds like a good plan. Anyway.... we met Rod and he said he was interested. Got his phone number and then texted him later that night. No response. Figures. THEN we went out with some members to McDonalds to get smoothies and we see him come in to McDonalds! What are the chances? He left before we had the chance to talk to him! He texted us and said, "Hey just saw y’all at McDonalds haha," and the number we had written down was one number off from the number he texted us from. God knew that we had written the number down wrong and so he was giving us a second chance to get his phone number! How crazy is that? Otherwise we would have never been able to find him again. Little miracles happen like this all the time. It is amazing.

CLEANING HOUSE
We are teaching Angelica and mannnn her life has been rough. We haven't even been able to teach her a lesson because the spirit can't be in her home at all. It is so so sad. She has this huge house inspection tomorrow so we went over to help her get started to clean. She was so overwhelmed she just didn't know where to start. We spent 3 hours in her house and cleaned 2 rooms. She is so so sweet. I love her and really can feel her changing and wanting to be a better mother. Her room looked SO good after we were finished and I put my arm around her and said, "Look how good this looks! Don't you just feel peace here? Just breathhhhheee. Inhale, exhale! Don't you feel better? Now you can start clearing out all the bad." It was exactly what she needed. She just needed to know that it was possible. We cleaned her room and her daughter’s room. I hope that they pass the inspection so they can still get help for their rent payments! She came to church yesterday and just bawled through the entire thing. I left my conference edition of the ensign at her house the other day and I don't think that it was an accident. She LOVED it and wants her daughter to take early morning seminary. Keep her in your prayers. She is so special but she needs the spirit in her home so so badly. There have been times when sister m and I have felt uneasy going into her home but we know that she is slowly changing and there is a light at the end of the tunnel :)

TEMPLE
Ohhhh the temple. How I love it there. I love events and seeing all the other missionaries and catching up. It's just a riot really.... Especially this time because there is a new endowment film and man oh man.. It was exciting. It felt like a midnight movie premiere! We were all giddy. Is that pathetic? Maybe a little bit... haha. But it was fun. There is such an amazing spirit with all the missionaries inside the temple and you can feel that the temple workers feel it just as much as we do, if not more.

5 FUTURE MISSIONARIES
We found this awesome family tracting. We were walking by a driveway and we saw one of those lame stick figure family stickers that Mormon families put on their car. I said to Sister M, "hmm these people have a million kids and a Mormony sticker. They'd fit right in. Lets meet 'em." We taught the mom and all the kids the restoration. There are 5 boys! The 11 and 12 year old boys stayed for the whole lesson. They loved it. We showed them the Restoration DVD and they were like sponges! Soaking up every little drop of the spirit. Afterwards we talked about it and I said, "Well I know that I felt the spirit, did ya'll feel that, it’s like a good, cozy feeling?" The two boys were like, "Yeah! We felt it!" It was really cool. I hope that things go well with them. We are going to have the deacons go over and meet them and invite them to scouts and stuff. So cool. I could see them all passing the sacrament. It was really cool.

Oh man... this week has been crazy. I am so so tired! I laid down to take a 30 minute nap yesterday after church and I told Sister M to wake me up.... but she DIDN'T! I slept for like 2 hours! Haha she was like, "I couldn't wake you up I felt too bad!" She’s too nice to me.... Oh man. But it has been a good week! One of our investigators has a goal baptismal date for August 31! We are praying that her husband will let her! She has a daughter named Jocelyn it throws me off when she talks about her or calls after her because I always turn around haha. It's funny.

I love the Book of Mormon!
